Paula qualified as a nurse in 1979 at The Royal Devon and Exeter hospital and has worked for many years in secondary care, as well as in primary care as a District Nurse. In 1994 her career pathway moved her into dermatology and Paula became the lead Clinical Nurse Specialist in a busy dermatology OPD and developed many nurse led initiatives. More recently Paula worked for a pharmaceutical company dedicated to dermatology and managed and led their UK nursing team. This role entailed delivering education to HCPs on general dermatology, skin cancer and photodynamic therapy. Paula has recently moved into an independent consultancy role in Dermatology to deliver education, service development and clinical care.
Paula maintains an honorary contract with Sussex Community Dermatology Service where she maintains direct clinical contact with dermatology patients. She has published several articles relating to dermatological conditions.
She is currently an active member of the British Dermatology Nursing Group
Paula is passionate about dermatology nursing and improving the lives of patients with skin conditions, particularly through educating other health care professionals.
